Looking for an animal encounter when visiting Nassau? Head to Adastra Gardens Zoo, & Conservation Centre. Adastra Gardens is a fun family oriented place. This small zoo has 2 major highlights, the parrots feeding and the world famous marching Flamingoes. The Caribbean Flamingoes are the national bird of The Bahamas and have a population of 70,000 (more than anywhere else in the world). However, these bright pink birds are only found in the wild in Southern islands of The Bahamas (such as Crocked Island, Aklins and Great Inagua). Thus this is the only way to see them in Nassau. Every day at 10:00 am, 12:15 pm & 4:00 pm, the zoo has a flamingo show in which you can participate. (perfect Gram Shot)
